Mr. Luis Gerardo A. Baluyut, Director

Prior to joining PRIMEX in 2013, Mr. Baluyut served with large international business process outsourcing (BPO) firms that established offices in the Philippines. His career in information technology (IT) started with his employment with Sykes Asia, one of the BPO pioneers in the country, from 1998–2000. Through the years, he joined other BPO firms, and in 2011, he was recruited by Tech Mahindra to help them set up their Philippine operation. Aside from being a Director of the PRIMEX Board, Mr. Baluyut is also IT Adviser and ISO Quality Management Representative of PRIMEX.

In 2003, he was recruited by Pacific Connexion LLC, a US-based business process solutions provider, to be their IT Operations Manager with responsibility for overseeing the day to day operations of the call center. In January 2008, he was promoted to General Manager with overall responsibility for the management of the call center’s technical services, facilities, finance, and human resources departments as well as setting of quality control standards for the implementation of agents and team captains, among other operation and management duties.

In September 2008, he moved to the Philippine branch of Motif Limited, an Indian BPO provider, as Systems Engineer responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems. In 2009, he was promoted to Manager for IT Operations, in charge of site IT systems and infrastructure related to call center/BPO operations and IT-related projects involving on-site and site-to-site installations, deployment, and maintenance.

In February 2011, he joined TechMahindra, as Manager for Technical Infrastructure Management, with oversight for IT systems and infrastructure for call center-BPO operations, as well as all IT-related concerns for local site and client-related operations.

Through the years of working with expatriate and Filipino consultants and staff, he honed his skills in resource management and client relations as he liaised with clients and internal counterparts for processes, implementation, and change management; coordinated directly with vendors and providers on service support and escalations; and worked with Management in the enforcement of policies and best practices. He also gained experience in procurement, audit assessment, and coordination with both client and internal audit teams on security and standards compliance. His IT proficiency extends to advanced knowledge in Cisco Switch configuration, Microsoft Active Directory, VOIP Gateways, PBX Programming, MySQL Database, and Contractual-Hosted PBX and CRM application.

Mr. Baluyut obtained his AB in Behavioral Sciences from De La Salle University and completed academic units leading to an MS in Information Technology at the Ateneo Information Technology Institute. He also completed Certificate Training courses in software and networks dynamics at the University of the Philippines–IT Training Center.
